Meghan Markle shared photos of her children Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie frolicking in the late Princess Diana’s childhood home, with experts calling Markle’s move “tasteless.”
Markle posted on Instagram this week about her family’s recent visit to the UK. She captioned her post “Summer holidays” and one of the images shows Prince Harry with his children walking along a grassy path lined with hedges and large trees. The photograph is believed to have been taken at Althorp, the family home of the Spencer family.
The photo shows Archie and Harry carrying bouquets, which seems to suggest they were visiting Diana’s burial site, which is on an island in the middle of her family’s estate.

Hilary Fordwich, an expert on the British royal family, told Fox News Digital that Prince Harry’s older brother, Prince William, is likely “furious” about Markle’s photos.

“Not only will Prince William likely be furious at Althorp being so commercialized in such a tawdry and tawdry media report, it will further heighten his disgust so he must prevent any serious comeback,” she began. “Similarly, Camilla, the courtiers, palace aides, security personnel and other institutional gatekeepers who are charged with protecting the monarchy will do everything in their power to thwart MM&H’s attempts.”
“Not only will Prince William likely be furious at Althorp being so commercialized in such a tawdry and tawdry media report, it will further heighten his disgust so that he will discourage any serious return.”
Richard Fitzwilliams, a royal expert, noted that the Spencer family must have given the Duke and Duchess of Sussex permission to visit Althorp, so her post was “permitted.”

“Meghan shared photos of her children at what is believed to be Althorp, the Spencer family home. That would have been authorized by the Spencers and therefore acceptable,” he told Fox News Digital.
Fitzwilliams continued: “What is important is the silence that Harry and Meghan somehow managed to maintain after their meeting with King Charles and Queen Camilla, in contrast to what happened previously. It became clear that there would be no future meetings if they spoke to anyone in the media.”

Helena Chard, a British television presenter and photographer, called Markle’s decision to publicly share a private family moment “predictable.”

“As for Meghan posting photos of children in Diana’s family home. This is a predictable move. He connects them to the story without using a title. But it also shows a bit of tension: she wants to hear the royal story when that helps, and keeps her distance when that doesn’t,” Chard said.
“The public understands the world privately, but fundamentally the crown must come first,” she concluded.

During Harry and Meghan’s recent trip to the UK, they were reportedly reunited with King Charles and Queen Camilla. Charles has not seen his grandchildren since 2022.
“No doubt KCIII wants his ‘dear boy’ H to return to the royal family with limited family contact and a controlled personal reconciliation. But given Prince William’s position, there will be no return to any significant royal role,” Fordwich told Fox News Digital.

“The entire family’s biggest fear is the institutional risk that H&MM could cause at any time due to leaks to the media. “MM’s publication of photographs of her children, which appear to have been taken at Althorp, is a horribly exploitative move and is why the couple are not trusted,” the royal expert continued.
“She behaves in a predictably provocative and tasteless manner as Princess Diana’s resting place is deliberately located at Althorp, the most private place of family mourning and the deeply symbolic one that is Princess Diana’s ancestral home.”

Chard highly doubts that Charles’ visit to his former son means Harry will be welcomed back into the “royal arena.”
“I doubt Charles will simply allow the Sussexes to return to the royal arena, especially since there has been no real repentance. Family reunion is one thing. Coming back to royal life is different,” she said. “Harry and Meghan will have to take responsibility and make a proper apology to king and country. This has not happened yet, and without this, moving forward is impossible.”
