With just three tournaments remaining until the FedExCup playoffs, the stakes for the 3M Open continue to rise. World No. 1 Scotty Scheffler made an impressive debut at the tournament as part of the under-65 team, performing like a champion in the process Kurt Kitayama returned to TPC Twin Cities looking to defend his title.
Ben Coles took the lead in the first round with a 9-under 62 without a bogey, and Emiliano Grillo is in contention after opening at 7-under 64.
