July 22 (UPI) — Disney+ is developing a new documentary about Oscar-winning actress Julie Andrews.
The streaming service announced Wednesday it will release a “definitive” new documentary about Andrews’ life and career in 2027.
Andrews, 90, is an award-winning British singer and actress, known for films such as Mary Poppins, The Sound of Music And The Princess Diaries.
The Disney+ documentary was directed by R.J. Cutler.Billie Eilish: The world is a little blurry), and will also feature previously unpublished archival footage and new interviews.
“This comprehensive portrait offers an intimate and revealing look at Andrews’ extraordinary journey, from her early days in British vaudeville to her meteoric rise as a global superstar. “Her story, marked by resilience, heartbreak, reinvention and enduring grace, transcends the spotlight,” the official description reads.

In a press release, Cutler called Andrews a “beloved performer” and a “culture icon.”
“Most people don’t know the extraordinary challenges she had to overcome throughout her life, all of which we delve into in this film. Sitting with Julie, being let into her inner world, watching her reflect on a life that has shaped so many other lives, is an experience I will always remember,” said the director.
