Celebrating the national holiday brought good fortune to a Quebec man who became a millionaire on June 24 when he won Extra’s $1 million jackpot.
Hearing the good news, Guy Perrault went to work early in the morning to tell his boss that he was retiring.
Mr. Perrault won $1 million for the free entry, to which he added an Extra episode.
“Always with a little extra, madam!” – he said to the cashier at the store when he received the ticket.

According to Loto-Québec, when checking his ticket the morning after the drawing, the lucky winner initially thought he had won $100,000.
But after taking a closer look at his ticket, Mr. Perrault noticed that he had won a $1 million jackpot instead.
“I’m going to enjoy life peacefully,” the new millionaire admitted after receiving a prize at a games fair in Quebec.
The lucky ticket was purchased from the Marché Express store on Boulevard Ormières, and the retailer will receive a commission of $10,000, equivalent to 1% of the winnings.
