That’s when “To Be Continued” appeared on the screen, so you’ll have to tune in for Episode 8 on July 27 at 8:00 pm ET to find out if Luke is really gone. Below Deck Honey.

Why Nathan Gallagher threatened to sack Luke Broomer before he announced his resignation

Nathan confronted Luke and threatened to fire him shortly before the charter guests arrived, meaning they had to immediately return to work amid lingering tension. “My boatswain can’t stand the sight of me,” Luke said in a confessional. “Everything on the boat seems to be spiraling and spiraling and spiraling.”

Indeed, Nathan admitted to the producer that he couldn’t “even look at” Luke anymore. After Luke, for his part, noticed the change in energy to the producer, he explained to Joy Lefaucher: “It’s getting (to be) too much for me. For example, many people punish me. It gets hard.”

Luke eventually tried to solve the problem with Nathan again in their cabin, but he insisted that he needed to take a shower instead. When the sailor later tried to broach the subject again, Nathan accused him of not taking “ownership” for the “fucking dirty” thing he had done. In particular, Nathan couldn’t believe that Luke had let him sleep on dirty sheets for three days, and even then he had to hear about what happened from someone else.

Afterwards, Luke muttered to himself, “I’d rather be fired than work with a boatswain who thinks I’m a piece of crap.” In an interview with the producer, he continued: “I have lost the trust and respect of Nathan. I see it in his eyes. He won’t let it go.”

Before speaking to Captain Sandy, Luke added, “Every inch of space I share with Nathan feels awkward as hell… If Nathan is still so ferocious and visceral with me a day and a half later, after 100 apologies have been said, will the charter season ever get back to normal, even remotely like it was before, after all of this? And I don’t think so.”

Once Nathan brought the problem to the attention of a stunned Captain Sandy, she said, “This is crossing the line. There must be consequences for this behavior.” Sandy promised to look into the situation and soon after wrote to the yacht’s HR representative to see if there were any sailors available. Meanwhile, she called Luke to the bridge and informed him that she needed to write a report on what he did to Nathan.

“What Luke did was potentially criminal,” Captain Sandy explained in a confessional. “This is unprecedented, so I will think about it for a while and then make a decision on how to deal with it after this charter. But in the meantime, due to the gravity of the situation, I need to write this report.

After telling Sandy he understood her position, an emotional Luke opened up to the producer, saying: “I’m devastated. My career means so much to me. I’m so scared that this could be the end for me… I’ve hurt people and I haven’t been an honest person. And I feel like I just let it all down.”
