Something new at SNCF. Jean Castex announced on Tuesday a reorganization of the management of SNCF subsidiary Voyageurs, whose current CEO Christophe Fanichet, the architect of the opening of competition, will be replaced by two people to “stimulate (…) new strategic directions.”
Christophe Fanichet, who has led SNCF Voyageurs since its creation on January 1, 2020, will “change functions within the group” and “retain all the confidence” of Jean Castex, the state railway group indicated in a press release.
He will be replaced by Laurent Trevisani, current deputy director general for strategy and finance of the SNCF group, who will be “chairman of the board of directors” of SNCF Voyageurs, and Jean-Aimé Mougeno, current deputy director of TER, who will become its director general, the press release said.
New directions
Jean Castex, who has been heading the SNCF for eight months, wants to “impulse new dynamics and new strategic directions based on a very positive assessment,” the group emphasizes in its press release.
The reorganization of the limited liability company SNCF Voyageurs, “based on the principle of decentralization, productivity and unity of the railway group,” will be rolled out “at the beginning of 2027” “instead of the Direction 2030 project developed and supported by Christophe Fanichet for several months,” the group details. “The new management will be implemented after consultation with the competent authorities,” the railway company adds.
