John Cena calls his 2025 match with Brock Lesnar the “toughest” of his professional wrestling career, noting why he believes so.
Ahead of WWE WrestlePalooza, Cena will feud with Brock Lesnar following Lesnar’s return to WWE at the SummerSlam Premium Event. In the fight at WrestlePalooza, Lesnar dominated Cena.
In a new interview with Undisputed, John Cena reflected on his match with Lesnar last year, noting that it was the “toughest” match of his career.
“I always said my next match would be my toughest, but now that I’m retired, that’s not true,” Cena said. “The hardest match was on the retirement tour against Brock Lesnar. The reason I say that is not just because it was physical – any match with Brock is physical. What was hard about that match was that Brock Lesnar used to kick my ass and you guys loved it. In Indianapolis, I got my ass kicked by Brock Lesnar and you hated it. So that made it physically and mentally tough. That It was probably the hardest match of my career.”
Earlier this year, Cena spoke about the rivalry between Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi. You can read more about this here.
