Six GIANTS have been added to the extended squad this week for Sunday’s clash with the Bombers.
Lachie Whitfield, Nick Madden, Joey Delana, Max Gruzevski, Conor Stone and Cody Angove are included in the extended 26-man squad. as the GIANTS make it three wins in a row for the first time this season as they head south to take on the Bombers at Docklands.
Whitfield will be looking to prove his fitness in main training on Friday as he aims to return after missing last week’s win over the Cats due to concussion protocol.
Angove, meanwhile, will be fighting for the opportunity to play his first game of football at AFL level of the season.
Phoenix Gothard (injured), Kieren Briggs (injured) and Harvey Thomas (managed) will leave the team.
Gothard suffered a dislocated shoulder in last week’s thrilling win over the Cats, and Briggs is recovering from an infected leg wound that will require additional time to heal.
THE GIANTS will name their final 23-man squad on Friday at 5pm ahead of Sunday’s twilight clash with Essendon at Marvel Stadium.
