Jake Paul said Pat McAfee He said Wednesday that he plans to fight again and has spoken with opponents in both boxing and MMA.
Paul hasn’t fought or even sparred since his jaw was broken. Anthony Joshua last December, but says he will soon “get official clearance to spar” and then “get back to it” – but he doesn’t have the same lofty goals as Joshua anytime soon.
“I probably won’t fight Olympic gold medal-winning heavyweights again,” Paul said. “I’ve learned my lesson. I’m definitely still fighting. We’re talking to a few opponents right now and just figuring out when we’re going to come back.”
Paul also said he was ready to fight Brock Lesnar in MMA, noting, “I fought in the first division in Ohio, it couldn’t be more legit,” which it is; for example, Lesnar was the NCAA Division I heavyweight champion. It’s definitely “more legit” than high school wrestling, even if it was Ohio’s legitimately competitive rankings.
Lesnar, for what it’s worth, just turned 49 years old and hasn’t fought a competitive fight since 2016, and this is his only fight since 2011. He hasn’t won a competitive fight since 2010 against Shane Carwin at UFC 116.
MMA fight with Nate Diaz is also still potentially “on the table,” Jake says. Paul defeated Diaz in the boxing ring back in August 2023, effectively ending the peak days of the “Jake Paul the Boxer” phenomenon.
