The Chicago Sky will play the unusual role of 2.5-point betting favorites when they host the last-place Seattle Storm on Wednesday, July 15.

At 7-16, Chicago enters the day 5.5 games behind the league’s eighth and final playoff spot, while the 6-19 Storm are 7.5 games out of contention.

My Storm vs Sky Predictions and the WNBA’s choice will follow the latest trend for the Storm, who will host this head-to-head matchup this afternoon.

Storm vs Sky Forecast

Best bet on Storm vs Sky: Storm +2.5 (-105)

Neither team is gaining momentum, but the Seattle Storm owned this matchup, winning four straight by 2.5 points.

The Storm rank last in the league in offense but should score enough points against the Chicago Sky’s 12th-ranked defense.

More importantly, Seattle’s Top 6 defense could face a Sky team that is missing Camille Cardoso (knee) and already without Ricky Jackson, with Skylar Diggins (knee) already ruled out..

This means Chicago could be without its top three scorers, creating an opportunity for Seattle to extend its winning streak over Chicago to five.

I’m confident that Storm will not only perform as an underdog, but I’m also poised to move them up the moneyline at +120.

Covers OBJECTIVES INTEL: In their last five games, Seattle is scoring at least 75.6 points per game, one of only two teams to fail to score 80+. Meanwhile, Chicago scored a whopping 93.8 points during the same period, ranking 14th out of 15.

Express Storm vs Sky in one game

In the absence of their top scorers, someone else will have to pick up the slack for Chicago’s scoring, and Sydney Taylor is the best candidate.

The Sky’s fourth-leading scorer had 20 points against Dallas and has scored at least 16 points in six of his last 11 games.

Seattle’s Natisha Hiedeman scored a career-best 31 points against the Mystics, including 2 of 5 in the downtown game.

However, one of the Sky’s few defensive strengths is their 3-point defense, which ranks second in the WNBA at a solid 31.8%.

In four games with the Lynx last year, she didn’t make more than one triple in any game against the Sky.

Selecting props for the Storm vs Sky player

Flower’je Johnson Over 5.5 rebounds (+110)

Flow’Jay Johnson, Seattle’s first-round draft pick in 2026, is a good player and a surprisingly strong rebounder.

In her last game against Washington, she finished with seven boards and has scored at least six runs in four of her last seven games, dropping another over by one board.

Chicago does give up the most rebounds to its opponent in the league, so Johnson is in a good position to grab a few more boards.
