A new fire broke out in a forest in the Vendée. Shortly after 23:00, on Tuesday, July 14, firefighters from the department intervened to report a bush fire located at a place called Evrun in Mortagne-sur-Sèvres.
A total of 59 firefighters were mobilized and on scene on Wednesday, July 15, morning. At the time of publication of the article, the fire had engulfed at least 1.2 hectares of territory in a 90-hectare thicket.
About fifty people were evacuated and taken to safety. The fire and rescue service of the Vendee department (SDIS 85) reports that the fire has been contained, meaning it is no longer progressing. However, operations continue to completely extinguish residual outbreaks and avoid their recurrence.
