The 22-year-old, with no criminal record, admitted that he was involved in trafficking several kilograms of cocaine in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean for profit. He was arrested as part of a major operation targeting a network linked to boss All Boivin.
Alex Demeule-Bouchard, 22, admitted the charges against him in court on Tuesday.
He agreed to later plead guilty to charges of drug trafficking between September 17, 2024 and May 23, 2025 in Saguenay.
Before that, Judge Michel Boudreau agreed to release him under several conditions, including a $10,000 bail.
Demeule-Bouchard is the first of a dozen people arrested last January to settle his case.
That day, Quebec security welcomed a major raid aimed at stopping the criminal activities of a group linked to All Boivin, who was then on the run.
Communications Accused
According to the Crown prosecutor’s statement of facts, Mr.e William Lacombe, the cocaine was being transported in transit between the Montreal and Saguenay regions.
Alex Demeule-Bouchard’s responsibility “is that he received some of the kilograms and delivered them to the designated locations using Signal discussion groups,” he explained.
In this way, a resident of Chicoutimi facilitated the sale of several kilograms of cocaine.
“By the spring of 2025 alone, we are talking about forty kilograms of cocaine that would have been distributed during the period of investigation, and that we can link to this network and in certain relationships to Mr. Demeulle-Bouchard,” the criminal and criminal prosecutor indicated.
Police found incriminating messages on his cell phones that showed his “profit motive.”
Multiple conditions
Recall that All Boivin, who was the most wanted fugitive in the country, was captured in Spain at the end of June after a long escape.
Alex Demeule-Bouchard has been in custody since his arrest on January 21.
Among the conditions he will have to comply with, he will be prohibited from associating with several people, including Alla Boivin, or with anyone who uses or sells drugs.
He will also have to surrender his passport, refrain from using drugs and using encrypted applications.
