New Delhi. Private and public sector banks in India will be closed for four days in the coming week (bank holidays next week) from July 13 to July 19, 2026. The RBI has published a list of 12 holidays in July in connection with national, regional and religious holidays. This also includes holidays on the second Saturday, fourth Saturday and all Sundays.
While some national holidays are reserved for individual states or regions, bank branches across the country will be closed on national holidays.
When are the public holidays next week?
Customers planning to visit branches of SBI, HDFC Bank or other banks should first check the list of holidays as branches of public and private banks will be closed on the days specified in the RBI holiday calendar.
Which cities will have holidays next week?
July 16: Banks in Bhubaneswar, Dehradun and Imphal will remain closed due to Rath Yatra/Kanga (Rath Yatra)/Kharela.
July 17: Banks in Shillong will remain closed on the death anniversary of U Tirot Singh.
July 18: Banks in Gangtok will remain closed due to Drukpa Tshezi.
Additionally, banks across India will remain closed on July 19 as the day falls on a Sunday.

July 6: Banks in Aizawl will remain closed on the occasion of MHIP Day.
July 9: Banks in Shillong will remain closed due to Beh Deinkhlam.
July 16: Banks in Bhubaneswar, Dehradun and Imphal will remain closed due to Rath Yatra/Kanga (Rath Yatra)/Kharela.
July 17: Banks in Shillong will remain closed on the death anniversary of U Tirot Singh.
July 18: Banks in Gangtok will remain closed due to Drukpa Tshezi.
July 22: Banks in Agartala will remain closed due to Kharchi Puja.
Saturday and Sunday days off
As per Reserve Bank of India (RBI) regulations, all scheduled and non-scheduled banks are forcibly closed on every second and fourth Saturday and every Sunday of the month. This means that on these days customers will not be able to use the services available at the branch.
There are four Sundays in July, so banks will be closed on July 5, 12, 19 and 26. In addition to Sunday, banks will also be closed on July 11 (second Saturday) and July 25 (fourth Saturday).
