India’s Ministry of External Affairs strongly condemned the attack on the commercial vessel GFS Galaxy off the coast of Oman on Sunday.

The ministry said that of the 11 Indian nationals on board the ship, 10 were rescued safely, while one Indian national is still missing.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, “The Indian Embassy in Oman is continuously monitoring the entire incident and is actively participating in the search and rescue operation carried out in coordination with the Omani authorities.”

The Ministry also expressed its gratitude to the Government of Oman and its officials for their cooperation in this campaign.

The Foreign Ministry said the ongoing attacks on commercial ships in the region are extremely worrying. India once again called for immediate de-escalation of tensions in the region and the ongoing negotiations being brought to a diplomatic resolution so that peace and stability can be restored.

The Cypriot-flagged container ship GFS Galaxy was attacked by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in the Strait of Hormuz, according to US Central Command (CENTCOM).

Centcom reported that one civilian member of the ship’s crew was missing. Due to a fire on the ship and severe damage to the engine room, he was unable to continue his further journey.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says it has closed the route until further notice.

According to Iranian state media, the IRGC said the ship was attacked because it turned off its systems and deviated from its planned course.

At the same time, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said it carried out a “third round of attacks” this week.

According to CENTCOM, the IRGC “openly attacked” a Cypriot-flagged ship.

Centcom said the MV GFS Galaxy was “unable to continue its voyage” due to severe damage to the engine room.

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth shared the statement and wrote: “Iran made the wrong decision. Now he will have to pay the price.”

While the IRGC warned that any “aggressive actions” by the US after the closure of the Strait of Hormuz would be met with a “strong” response and would be aimed at new targets in the region.

Now, in the latest attack, Iran has retaliated following a US Army airstrike on several coastal bases and communications towers on Iran’s southern coast.

Following the IRGC attack, Iran said it destroyed a command and control center and an MQ-9 drone hangar at Jordan’s Prince Hassan Air Base.

Following the attack, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates also raised the alarm. According to the BBC Arabic service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that sirens sounded across the country.

At the same time, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the United Arab Emirates stated that it was taking measures to combat the threat of a missile attack.

Earlier this week, three commercial tankers were attacked while attempting to pass through Omani territorial waters along a proposed US route.

Iran has repeatedly said that a separate route through its territorial waters is the only “safe” route.

After these incidents, America carried out several terrorist attacks. Iranian officials said 17 people were killed and 115 injured.

In response, Iran attacked America’s allies in the Persian Gulf region.

Due to these attacks, tension has increased. US President Donald Trump said Iran’s attacks meant the ceasefire had ended.

At the same time, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi accused America of violating the agreement.

However, Trump said that negotiations will continue and mediators are trying to resume the negotiation process.

Iran told US officials that the attacks on the tankers were a mistake and blamed one of its own rogue factions, US media reported.

American officials say they conveyed their demands to Iran through intermediaries.

The US wants Iran to publicly declare that the vital Strait of Hormuz is open to international shipping and pledge to stop attacks on commercial ships.

Here, Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Majid Bin Raza said that during the recent war with America and Israel, Iran’s drone production capacity increased threefold.

During a meeting with lawmakers on Saturday, Ibn al-Reza, discussing the twelve-day confrontation with Israel last year and the war with the US and Israel this year, said the “enemy” had entered the battlefield with 150 leading technology companies and advanced weapons, the official IRNA news agency reported.

But thanks to the leadership of the Supreme Leader of the Armed Forces and the support of the public, he was defeated.

He said that even at the height of the war, defense production continued without interruption.

Iran’s drone production capacity has tripled.

He said the war was an impetus for the development of the country’s defense technology and stressed the importance of accurately identifying enemy vulnerabilities.
