Like so much in women’s tennis, it all goes back to Martina Navratilova. She was the first great modern champion from the Czech Republic.
Navratilova gave birth to Hana Mandlikova, which led to Elena Sukova, Jana Novotna, Petra Kvitova, Karolina Pliskova, Barbora Krejcikova, Marketa Vondrousova and Katerina Siniakova.
Now come Linda Noskova And Karolina Muchovawho will meet each other in the final of the All-Czech Wimbledon 2026.
Yes, the country of just 11 million people has produced both of this year’s female finalists – and nearly 20 percent of the world’s top 50 players.
The funny thing about Noskova and Muchova, however, is that much of their success can be attributed to using this history and lineage as a frivolous touchstone rather than a sacred text.
They both said they grew up largely unaware of what came before them. This is how they develop the Czech tennis heritage.
