WSE Stuttgart | "VfBeats" - VfB documentary: Heartbeat league and cup finals

The fourth and final part of VfBeats covers the exciting finale of the Bundesliga season and the DFB Cup final. Not only those in charge of the sport spoke out, but also some of the main characters from past episodes.

Three league finals, another in the German Cup: a lot was at stake for VfB in the final push of last season’s 2025/2026 season. After a 3-3 draw with Hoffenheim and a 3-1 draw with Leverkusen, the boys from Cannstatt secured their place in the UEFA Champions League with a 2-2 draw in Frankfurt on the final day of the match, bringing friends, relief and, above all, pride to all involved. Alexander Wehrle, CEO of VfB, sums it up aptly in the final issue of VfBeats: “This has been a very unusual and successful season for the club.” Because not only professionals, but also the VFB women’s and youth teams took part in a more than memorable season.

The final episode of the VfBeats seasonal format is dedicated to the decisive days and weeks of the past season. From tight clashes with Hoffenheim, Leverkusen and Frankfurt to the big German Cup final in Berlin, get exclusive behind-the-scenes insight.

Great emotions before and after the German Cup final

Around the finale at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin there was also a reunion with some of the main characters from the first editions of “VfBeats”. Stuttgart rapper Mayan warmed up the white and red fans at a fan festival in Berlin’s Alexanderplatz, while the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra sent goosebumps with their interpretation of Wolle Krivanek’s “Stuttgart is Coming” shortly before kick-off at the Olympic Stadium. But it’s not just musical interludes that evoke strong emotions.

In addition to excerpts from the dressing room speeches of head coach Sebastian Hoeness, who, like Alexander Werle and Fabian Wolgemuth, also often speaks, there are emotional farewell words from Pascal Stenzel and Alexander Nübel, who played a key role in shaping VfB’s successful path in recent seasons and have now left the club.

Noah Darwiche and Chema also talk about their daily lives as teammates, neighbors and buddies, while Deniz Undave has an important meeting in Frankfurt before leaving for the World Cup.

This is “VfBeats”

The accompanying album for the 2025/2026 season, “VfBeats”, is a documentary film in which various musicians with regional roots have their say. As the successor to the popular seasonal documentary “VfB inTeam”, “VfBeats” again focuses on various sporting events, as well as VfB failures and special moments. Together with the professionals and club leaders from Cannstatt, we talk about emotions, scenes, passion and rhythms – elaborate parallels from the music and football industries. With regional connections, with heart. For music and for football.

The first episode of “VfBeats – Track 1” was released in mid-October 2025, the second episode “VfBeats – Track 2” was released on Christmas 2025, and the third episode “VfBeats – Track 3” premiered in April 2026. All three episodes can still be seen on VfB TV and the VfB YouTube channel. The film is being produced with the support of Floodlight-Film OHG from Cologne. The company also produced last season’s documentary “VfB inTeam” and two subsequent films in collaboration with VfB Stuttgart.
