Britain’s Henry Patten and his Finnish teammate Harri Heliovaara reached their second Wimbledon men’s doubles final in three years.

The world number one, the 2024 All England Club champion, maintained her bid to regain the title by defeating American Alexander Kovacevic and Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis 7-6 (7-2), 7-6 (10-8).

This result meant that Patten and Heliovaara won six of the seven tiebreakers they fought over those two weeks, including 10-point tiebreakers in the previous three rounds.

Having only joined forces in 2024, they will now be looking to win their third Grand Slam title in as many years, after also winning the 2025 Australian Open.

In Saturday’s final they will face Marcelo Arevalo of El Salvador and Mate Pavic of Croatia, who beat them in the final at Queen’s Club last month.

“It’s a great feeling. Strong emotions of joy, relief, happiness and all that. This is what you dream about. We’re a little tired but we’re over the moon,” Patten told BBC TV.

Returning for the Wimbledon final, he added: “I think we’ll still be very nervous. There’s no getting around it – this is the Wimbledon final on Center Court.”

“It’s a unique feeling. Butterflies will definitely be there.”

Arevalo and Pavich knocked out reigning British champions Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool on Wednesday.

Arevalo, a two-time French Open doubles winner, and Pavic, winner of all four Grand Slams including Wimbledon in 2021, won 6-2 6-4 when they faced Patten and Heliovaara at Queen’s three weeks ago.
