In the three-match ODI series against India, Root, who became an indispensable stick for Indian bowlers, achieved the top position in the history of international ODI cricket as the batsman who scored the most runs without being out in the entire series.

Joe Root has been in phenomenal form in this series, taking the Indian bowling department by storm. In the last one-day match at Lord’s, he scored 74 runs off just 48 balls and remained unbeaten. Root, who was unbeaten on 76 runs in the first ODI and 99 runs in the second ODI, scored 249 runs off 257 balls in the three-match series. What is remarkable is that in these three matches, the Indian bowlers were never able to send him to the pavilion.
With this, Joe Root set a world record as the batsman to score the most runs in a single ODI series without being bowled out. In this episode, Root surpassed his teammate Jos Buttler’s record of 248 runs against the Netherlands in 2022.
