Jan Gozlan (Black Box) deftly blurs boundaries, like Hitchcock in Rebecca (with Patricia Highsmith in mind), in a complex story where feelings, nightmares and impulses collide with subtle violence. It’s beautiful, clever, intriguing. And Diane Kruger is magnificent: she has lava under the ice.
