After two years in VFL

Marius Müller left Wolfsburg and went abroad for the second time. Lutz Pfannenstiel, Aberdeen’s sporting director, is taking the 33-year-old to Scotland, where the Heppenheim native has signed a contract for an undisclosed duration. During his two years at Wolfsburg, Müller made eight appearances as a representative of Kamil Grabara (27), who is also expected to leave the club. Wolves are set to sign Feyenoord’s long-time number one Timon Wellenreuther (30).
“Everything happened very quickly, but I’m happy to be in Scotland,” Muller said in a statement from Aberdeen on Thursday. “Obviously I know Lutz well and when I spoke to him and[goalkeeping coach/editor]Craig Hinchliffe about going to Aberdeen it sounded like an exciting thing.” Hoffenheim loanee Dennis Geiger (28) played for the Dons last season. Müller also told him about the club and “heard only good things.”
Schwegler from Wolfsburg on Müller: “The right step for both sides”
Sporting director Pirmin Schwegler said of Müller’s move from Wolfsburg: “Marius has fully identified himself with Wolfsburg from day one. We openly discussed his current sporting prospects with each other and together came to the conclusion that a move to Aberdeen is the right move for both parties. We thank Marius for his dedication to the Wolfsburg shirt and wish him all the best for his sporting and personal future.”
Müller stressed in a statement from his former club: “It is very difficult for me to say goodbye because I felt extremely comfortable both in the club and in the whole environment. I would like to reconnect with the team after relegation. At the same time, I now have the chance to get regular playing time again at Aberdeen, which I want to do with full conviction. I will always have fond memories of my time at Wolfsburg.”
