A 41-year-old man and his six-year-old daughter died in a tractor accident in Sattains in Vorarlberg on Tuesday. Another child survived his injuries.
The man took his two young daughters with him on a tractor-trailer. According to police, they were driving through a meadow when the trailer apparently began to slide. The vehicle overturned.
The tractor driver and his six-year-old daughter died at the scene. The second four-year-old daughter was taken to hospital by rescue helicopter. It is unclear how seriously she was injured.
The accident goes undetected for several hours
The victims of the accident were discovered only several hours later. The accident occurred in the morning, but went unnoticed for a long time. According to police, relatives reported the 911 call Tuesday afternoon.
Rescuers with emergency helicopters, a fire department, a mountain rescue service, an emergency response group and police were on duty. Police are conducting an investigation to determine the exact cause of the incident.
