The flame is impressive. This Friday, early in the day, a fire broke out in Plaisance du Touches, west of Toulouse.
The fire, which started on the Plateau de la Menud side, crossed the road and approached houses. Authorities are on the scene and the evacuation of houses continues, the source said.

The fire, the cause of which has not yet been established, started around 2 p.m. on Rue des Chênes, at the level of the embankment separating businesses from the residential complex. According to the departmental fire and rescue service, one hectare burned down quite quickly. In the nearby Ecuries des Sévennes, everyone was prepared to evacuate, but this was ultimately not necessary: the intervention of firefighters brought the fire under control around 16:00.

During the operation, the municipal police of Plaisance du Touches and numerous gendarmerie brigades from the surrounding area (Cugnot, Plaisance, Bozel) were mobilized, with a total of about 25 people, who provided security, but also evacuated about fifteen families and ordered the detention of about thirty others.
In addition, the Kaleidoscope school, which hosted children as part of an entertainment center, was evacuated as a precaution, as well as another area located on the other side of Pierre et Marie Curie Boulevard. The fire stopped on the boulevard, but many houses could have been damaged if the flames had spread to the road. A total of 250 people were evacuated.
“The fire has started,” Captain Bertrand Legalet told Sdis 31 at 16:15, after a two-hour intervention by five trucks and 23 firefighters from the Carsalade, Pibrac and Colomier barracks. “The situation is favorable. The prompt actions of emergency services have allowed the fire to be contained. Emergency services remain on the site and are currently processing the edges to ensure flooding and monitoring hot spots to avoid the risk of resumption,” firefighters indicate.
Red Alert Department for Forest Fires
This new fire comes at a time when Météo France has issued a red alert in the Haute-Garonne department due to a very high risk of forest fire. Due to drought and heat, fire outbreaks have become more frequent almost everywhere in the Haute-Garonne region in recent days. Yesterday in the north-east of Toulouse, flames destroyed 66 hectares of vegetation, including several gardens.
Or in Rium, where on Thursday a fire threatened several houses and led to the evacuation of about forty people. In this city, three hectares of vegetation burned before the fire was brought under control.
