As the club officially confirmed on Thursday, Klink suffered a serious injury during training and will not be available for “several weeks”. The 31-year-old will therefore miss a significant portion of further training before the start of the season. The first competitive game of the FKB women’s team will take place on August 15 in the Super Cup match against Wolfsburg. It’s unlikely that Klink will be fit again by then.
Bayern goalkeeper Anna Klink is out of action due to a fractured metacarpal bone.
Klink moved from Basel to Bayern Munich only in the summer of 2025 and signed a contract until June 2027. In her first season she won both the Bundesliga and the German Cup with record champions, but did not play a single official game.

After main goalkeeper Ena Mahmutovic and her deputy Mala Gros, Klink took only third place in the goalkeeper hierarchy last season. It’s unlikely that anything will change in the coming season, because after Gro’s departure, the Munich team signed Regina van Eyck for the new season. The 24-year-old Dutchwoman, who has 114 appearances for Ajax, is considered a real rival for Mahmutovic. Blade will likely follow.

Between van Eyck, Mahmutovic and Klink, Bayern coach Jose Barcala has three experienced goalkeepers in his squad, although Klink’s future beyond the end of his contract in 2027 is still open. Anna Wellmann could take a line-up position in the future. The 31-year-old footballer was signed and initially loaned to Eibar for one season – from the summer of 2027 she could become a permanent player for Bayern, and Klink could leave the Munich team.
