- Fans believed the food came from Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding, although the connection has not been confirmed.
- Social media users had a lot to say about the enthusiastic reaction to the mysterious dessert.
We already know that Swifties can be a little special. But even by their standards, celebrating mysterious baked goods from an anonymous van like you’ve just received a slice of the royal wedding cake is… a lot.
In a video circulating online, fans gathered outside and around Madison Square Garden for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding can be seen filming a white van with “SP Bakery Distributors Inc.” written on it. There is no confirmed connection between the car and the wedding, but that didn’t stop the crowd from trying to figure out if the people inside had anything to do with it.
“How did it go? Good?” someone behind the camera shouts to the driver.
Then came the big questions: give it a thumbs up if it’s a chocolate cake. Thumbs down if it was vanilla.
Again, we have zero The idea is if these people were catering a wedding, delivering something to a wedding, or simply made the unfortunate decision to drive past a group of extremely determined Swifties while driving a bakery van.
Then at one point, a man inside the van lifts a box to the window, causing someone in the crowd to shout, “Drop it! I’ll catch you!”
“I got it. I don’t care. It’s Taylor Swift food,” he declares.
Before the mysterious baked goods could be thrown into the crowd, an officer approached and took the box, creating another dilemma: which Swiftie was most deserving of the anonymous baked goods?
“Officer, I deserve it. Can I have it?” asks the man filming the video.
As you can imagine, he got his hands on some baked goods.
It’s hard to say what exactly, but in very general terms it looks like a glazed square of puff pastry – the layers are clearly visible – with some kind of filling, perhaps apple. It looked absolutely beautiful. Was this the stunning confection one would expect from the wedding of two extremely famous and extremely wealthy people at Madison Square Garden? I’ll let you draw your own conclusions here.
However, judging by the squeal, it made absolutely no difference to the recipient.
“Oh my god guys, we have Taylor Swift dessert!” – he shouted on the streets of New York.
Could it have been a regular baked goods item that was never within 500 feet of the reception location? Of course, but apparently believing is half the battle.
People on X weren’t particularly interested in whether baking could actually be considered a wedding. One opportunity was enough.
“If dessert was included, I would definitely go to Madison Square Garden,” one person wrote. Another viewer found the shouting excessive, but the enthusiasm for the free food was understandable: “This dude is too extravagant, but I’d be giddy with a free dessert too.”
However, for some it was no longer just baking. “THIS BOX SHOULD BE SENT TO A MUSEUM,” one person said, while another joked: “She literally said let them eat cake, I’m so jealous.”
And one fan was already lamenting that geography prevented them from getting what they thought was the closest thing to a wedding invitation: “SO THEY PRACTICALLY ATTENDED THE WEDDING????? DAMN I DIDN’T LIVE IN NEW YORK!! THAT THEY EATED THE REMAINS OF THE WEDDING 😭😭😭”
Personally, I think “practically attended” is a bit of a stretch, but if eating untested baked goods outside of MSG makes a difference, then congratulations to all the Swifties who contributed to the guest list.
