The Saint-Evarzec municipal council’s agenda on Tuesday focused only on the energy renovation of the town’s childhood home. An issue that Mayor Rene Roqué decided to exclude from the previous council.
This project, one of the main projects of the new mandate, has undergone various changes since it was first approved by elected officials on December 17. This is what work assistant Michel Gueguen recalls: The project management contract was signed with Akajoule for an estimated amount of EUR 180,000. It turns out that the scope of work was underestimated by the departmental trade union of energy and equipment (Sdef).
Four directions of repair
The reconstruction of the orphanage will be built in four directions. The first concerns the replacement of all openings with high-performance glazing and the implementation of external solar control.
Interior finishing will then include lowering the ceilings to reduce heated volumes and increasing insulation on the roof. As for ventilation, a double-flow system with heat recovery will be installed. Finally, the lighting will be completely switched to LED with occupancy detection.
The cost of the project is now estimated by Akajul at 364,500 euros, including 132,571 euros of additional work.
This is completely different from what we originally planned,
explains the mayor. We made this decision while studying the case; we could not be satisfied with what we had originally assumed. This is a more global project, and we will not have problems with financing it.
We are very unpleasantly surprised by the amount
elected opposition member Jocelyn Karoff intervenes. Obviously, Akajoul was mistaken in his assessments. This is a necessary project for the welfare of children, but we will refrain from voting for it due to the amateurism of the specifications.
Rene Roque replied: They weren’t wrong, they didn’t have all the elements. There were also unforeseen problems with the building’s frame and structure. I realize we’ve wasted a little time with this file.
The discussion was approved by a majority with minus five abstentions.
