Reality TV fans will be faced with a major dilemma tonight as two of the longest-running cult reality shows premiere at the same time.
Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Orange County will begin its landmark 20th season on Thursday, July 9 at 8:00 PM ET/PT. Meanwhile, Big Brother will open its doors for its 28th season on CBS on the same primetime network.
Milestone in OC
The franchise that turned Bravo into a reality empire first premiered in 2006, and now Vicki Gunvalson, who started it all, will once again be a full-time housewife. We know she’ll be “lifting the mood” this season to bring more excitement back to the group.
In addition to Gunvalson, returning are RHOC veterans Tamra Judge, Heather Dubrow and Shannon Beador, as well as Emily Simpson, Gina Kirschenheiter and Jen Pedranti. New housewife Carmella Garcia makes her season debut.

Big Brother makes television history
During its 28th season, Big Brother will become the first American primetime television series to air its 1,000th episode.
Hosted by Julie Chen Moonves, the show will have a “Time Travel” theme in which the house will transport its 14 guests back to the 80s, 90s and Y2K eras. The cast includes a former contestant RuPaul’s Drag RaceMMA fighter and rocket scientist.
Moonves also reportedly hinted that “controversial” reality TV veterans might be involved in the project. We’ll have to wait and see tonight as the contestants compete for the $750,000 grand prize.
