Arcom has approved the reorganization of FM Radio France’s network, a government project aimed at reducing public service broadcasting costs and adapting the network to the rollout of DAB+, which is now available to more than 80% of the population.
This development will notably see a partial frequency swap between France Info and France Musique to expand the news station’s FM coverage, while France Musique will see its coverage reduced while remaining available on DAB+ and online.
The operation will be accompanied by the return of approximately 300 FM frequencies, Arcom explains in a press release.
The technical changes will take effect on July 21, 2026. They will come into force following the decision to stop Mouv’ FM broadcasts from August 31, with the station becoming available exclusively in digital format. The 30 frequencies issued by Mouv’ will be subject to an application for applications intended for private radio stations.
