On Monday afternoon (June 30, 2026), an unknown person tried to rip a gold chain from the neck of an 88-year-old man. The injured party left Graf-von-Galen-Carree after shopping around 15:30. and drove up to the barrier in the parking lot. There, the robber spoke to her through an open side window and showed her a piece of paper. Moments later, he reached towards the victim’s neck and tried to forcefully rip the gold chain from her neck. The Hagen woman was able to escape unharmed through the opened barrier. Despite an immediate search, the police did not find the fugitive. The victim described the robber as follows: A man between 45 and 50 years old, about 175 cm tall, with a thin build. Crime Stoppers have taken over the investigation and are asking witnesses to call 02331 986 2066 if they have any information. (ray)
