Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling were joined by her teenage daughter Georgina to support Prince William at a charity polo day.

Peter, Harriet and Georgina were on hand to support the Prince of Wales as he competed with the US Polo Association. The team competes in a round-robin tournament that raises money for 10 charities chosen by the Prince and Princess of Wales. The Princess of Wales made a surprise appearance at the event, cheering her husband on from the sidelines and presenting him with a trophy to the winning team.

It’s the latest outing for Georgina, who has had a small taste of royal attention since her mother and Peter Phillips went public with their relationship. She joined the couple and Peter’s daughters at horse trials and other family events before making her first high-profile appearance on Easter Sunday.

Luckily, Georgina can count on her new stepsisters to help her through this exciting new chapter. The teenager developed a close relationship with Savannah and Isla – Peter’s daughters from his marriage to Autumn Phillips – after playing together on the same hockey team. Indeed, Peter and Harriet were reportedly introduced at a local match. Soon after, the couple made their debut: they competed together in badminton competitions in May 2024.

Starting a new family marks a change in the life of Harriet Sperling, who raised her daughter as a single mother after her relationship with Georgina’s father broke down. “Resources were scarce and the future was uncertain,” Harriet, a devout Christian, wrote about the experience in an essay for The woman is aliveChristian Magazine, 2024 “However, in the absence of material security, I have discovered the strength and life that comes from true, selfless love.”

She also wrote movingly about the close bond she and her daughter developed. “My daughter and I traveled for 10 years with just each other,” she wrote. “I compare us to an island, and it is often difficult to imagine anyone joining this island… The unique relationship between a single mother and her child is forged in the fire of struggle and victory. It is a bond characterized by love and survival against all odds.”
