During the holiday period, electrical terminals are taken over at some motorway stations. To avoid bottlenecks and support drivers who sometimes get lost, terminal operators are now making toll collection easier.

A few kilometers from the sea, near the Lançon-Provence motorway, there are 16 electrical terminals, all of them occupied. Not easy to recharge. “You need to find a place, you need to find a terminal that is compatible with my system, which I hope will work with a credit card, because I only have a credit card.”described by a motorist. Luckily, there is a new profession: terminalists. Dressed in orange, you won’t be able to miss them. “We need to put things in order… There are people there”– explains one of them. Valuable help for users.
Sebastien Grezard, all he has to do is connect: easier said than done. He’s only been driving the electric car for six months, and this is the second time he’s had to charge on the highway. But for a computer scientist, nothing is insurmountable. Expected recharge time: half an hour to go from 57% to 95%. Ariane Schlegel and her two daughters do their last exercise before arriving in Cannes. They left Annecy for the first time in Haute-Savoie using electricity. “I was afraid of losing a lot of time. We found a place every time. It was good”she is happy.
Further north on the A10 there is also a terminal operator at the station to assist motorists. “There was a communication error with the car. Indeed, it completely crashed. You’ll just have to disconnect it and redo it, either using the electric pass or using the charging card.”– he explains to users. A few seconds are enough to solve the problem. “Sometimes during extreme heat, charging may be interrupted. This happens extremely rarely.”– the station employee admits. Thanks to his advice, many people have a good start to their holidays.
