We have our first official trailer! Misty GreenChris Rock’s first feature film since 2014. Top Five.
Rock is directing the film from a script he wrote. The film follows Misty, “an undeniably talented actress, but her vices have derailed efforts to revive her career. Her best opportunity in years comes in the form of Jordan (Rock), a film director who is perfect for her – if not for their contentious past.”
The film stars Rosalind Eleazar, Adam Driver, Daniel Kaluuya, Anna Kendrick and Topher Grace. Peter Rice, Rock and David Worthen Brooks produced the film, with Nelson George, Shaum Sengupta and Miles Alva serving as executive producers.
Rock’s last directorial work was in 2014. Top Fivecomedy about New York comedian and movie star Andre Allen (The Rock), who tries to become a serious actor when his reality TV star fiancee persuades him to broadcast their wedding on her television show.
Rock also wrote the feature, which also stars JB Smoove, Kevin Hart, Sherri Shepard, Michael Che, Tracy Morgan, Jay Pharoah, Leslie Jones, Cedric the Entertainer, Jerry Seinfeld, Adam Sandler and Whoopi Goldberg.
Before that, Rock led I think I love my wife (2007), a remake of Eric Rohmer’s 1972 film. Love in the Afternoon And Head of State (2003). He also starred in both films.
Misty Green will debut at this year’s Toronto Film Festival.
