Marvel Studios will change course in one key aspect of Netflix’s Marvel reboot. In 2025, Marvel Studios revived the dormant Defenders TV universe after Netflix canceled all of its shows, starting with the new Disney+ series. Daredevil: Born Again. Daredevil: Born Again has had a rocky road to success in streaming. The first season was put on hold and rewritten midway through production, resulting in a tonally disjointed debut that was part superhero show, part courtroom drama. The second season was a stronger vision from showrunner Dario Scardapane, although it leaned more heavily on political themes than Netflix’s previous one. Daredevil there was a series. “Getting into the realm of politics, the politics of New York, the behind-the-scenes intrigue of Game of Thrones…okay, that’s fun too, but as it gets too topical, it feels like it’s moving away from the big mythological genre stuff.”

Although the second season Daredevil: Born Again Reflecting (often unintentionally) the real-life political landscape, season three will move away from that tone and those themes. Scardapane noted that “Moving forward is more like going back to the (Frank) Miller era of comics.” adding that he wanted something “a little more than street level” for the third season:
“So as we wrap up the Mayor Fisk run in season two, as that storyline comes to its inevitable conclusion, what we’re doing going forward feels more like a return to the (Frank) Miller era of comics. So yes, it was fun to play in the political realm, but personally I like something more streetwise.”
Scardapane’s comments indicate that Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 will once again change the tone of Marvel Studios’ Netflix reboot, moving away from legal drama and political thriller to a more street-level superhero series similar to the Netflix series. Daredevil.

D’Onofrio will return for season three Daredevil: Born Againhe won’t be in the same position of power and could instead return to his character’s underworld roots as Kingpin.
The show could also follow suit and return to its gritty crime roots, paving a new path for Marvel’s Netflix reboot, similar to the tone and style of the old universe.
