It’s time to update PowerPoint once again. On Wednesday, People reported that Margaret Qualley and Jack Antonoff split a month before their three-year wedding anniversary. One source told the publication that their relationship was “rocky,” while a second added that Substance the actress and pop music producer is “sorting things out.” Neither of them confirmed the news, but TMZ noted that Qualley appears to have deleted all photos from their 2023 New Jersey wedding from her Instagram profile (though she still has photos with Antonov from February). The Cut has reached out to reps for Qualley and Antonoff and will update this post if we hear back.
News of the couple’s rumored split comes days after Antonoff was spotted attending Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding weekend – not with Qualley, but with his fashion designer sister Rachel. His wife’s absence sparked some speculation, but other commentators speculated that she was out of town working on her upcoming film. King of Snakes.
Obviously we don’t know exactly what’s going on between them, but I can’t help but add that the timing is frighteningly close to release Longing for glory. A month ago, Lena Dunham published a stunning memoir in which she spoke about her former relationship with Antonov, as well as his dalliances with an unnamed “teenage pop star” (rumored to be Lorde) while Dunham was visiting her dying grandmother in the summer of 2016.
If Qualley has indeed joined Antonov’s list of famous exes, I really hope she and Dunham compare notes. Perhaps this young singer will come talk to her “Aunt Lena,” as the memoir claims she also called Dunham. May I recommend they also invite @buzzkillary, author of the 29-slide PowerPoint presentation entitled “Lord and Jack Antonoff – An Emotionally Broken Journey?” IN Longing for gloryDunham herself acknowledged the work on Antonov’s alleged border crossing as “pretty surprising.” I think that says it all.
