Franklin Cudjoe – CEO of Imani Africa
Imani Africa Chief Executive Officer Franklin Cudjoe has called for the retention of the Black Stars coach and players despite the team’s exit from the current tournament and urged Ghanaians to give them another opportunity at the next Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
In a Facebook post published on Saturday 4 July 2026, Cudjoe said the team should be kept together and assessed again at the next continental competition rather than making immediate changes after the disappointing exit.
“Let’s save the coach and team and test them again at the next Afcon,” he wrote.
Commenting on the team’s performance, Cudjoe called the defeat an avoidable one, attributing the turning point to an early injury and Senai’s substitution, which he believed paved the way for the decisive goal.
“This loss could have been avoided. An early injury and Senay’s substitution signaled a problem and that led to the only goal.”
He did, however, admit that the Black Stars failed to respond after falling behind and questioned whether the team really looked capable of making serious progress in the tournament.

“However, we did not live up to expectations. But did we really believe from the very beginning of the tournament that we had a great team that could go further than us?”
Cudjoe also quoted a proverb previously used by ABA Fuseini to highlight his point that the team’s shortcomings were obvious from the start.
“As ABA Fuseini told us: “A testicle that will degenerate into a hernia is detected from the first day of its appearance.”
Despite the disappointment, he said the Ghana campaign had at least given fans a brief period of excitement and ended his post on a light-hearted note.
“We had some fun, but now we’re back home. However, I danced (Kakalika moves) for a reason.”
