Comedian Kathy Griffin, 65, spoke harshly about her new 22-year-old boyfriend in a saucy social media post.
Griffin posted a photo on Instagram of herself holding hands with a mystery younger man. In the caption, she wrote a direct message to the whole world: “He is 22 years old. Take it, Internet.”

In the photo, the man reaches toward the car door, holding Griffin’s hand, their hands intertwined. He looks straight into the camera.
Meanwhile, Griffin, wearing a tight black midi dress, smiles as she waits to get into the car.
Her followers immediately took to the comments, with some supporting her and others calling the age difference a double standard.
“Women in men’s fields😍,” one person wrote.
“GO GURL,” another commented.
“If he opens your car door for you, leave him. At 22, he’s cooler than most men,” a third person wrote.
Of course, some did not approve of the novel.
“If this were a man over 65 and a woman 22, the comments would be very, very different,” one person wrote.
A few hours later, Griffin posted, writing, “I’m dying from these comments 👏😂👏.”

It’s unclear who the man in the photo is, but he and Griffin appear to be romantically involved.
This is not the first time Griffin has dated a man in his twenties. In a personal essay published in Cutout in December 2025, she admitted that she fell in love with a 23-year-old guy.
“Because of his age, he didn’t have the usual sexism, misogyny, and prejudice that guys my age have. He seemed to see me. I know that sounds really corny. Oh God, that sounds so lame! But I felt very comfortable with him and had a lot of fun just hanging out,” she wrote.
She went on to say that the relationship didn’t last, but she doesn’t regret it.
The relationship began shortly after her divorce from her second husband, 48-year-old Randy Bick, was finalized in 2023.
Griffin and Bick officially divorced in Los Angeles County Superior Court after three years of marriage and tied the knot in 2020. The couple have been together since 2011.
She was previously married to software entrepreneur Matthew Moline from 2001 to 2005.
