Jennifer Finch, L7 bassist, dies at 59

Jennifer Finch, bassist for L7, died Sunday at age 59. The all-female punk band posted on their Instagram account: “She fought a long and courageous battle with brain cancer and was loved by many wonderful friends, fellow musicians and fans around the world.”

The announcement comes just days after the musician revealed she had brain cancer. She’s gone Last round of hurraytour that L7 is currently touring the United States with and has been replaced by Tsuzumi Okay.

L7 was founded in 1985 in Los Angeles. A year later, Jennifer Finch joined Donita Sparks and Susie Gardner. The band paved their way through the grunge and riot grrrl movements. Jennifer Finch left L7 in 1996 and returned when the group reformed in 2014.
