Ford Australia recalls more than 2,500 examples of his popular Ranger And Everest as the software issue mentioned in the previous review may result in a power outage.

“Due to a software issue, the transmission fluid pump gears may fail while driving. This may result in a loss of hydraulic fluid pressure in the transmission, resulting in loss of driving force,” the company said in its recall notice.

“Loss of motive power can increase the risk of serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.”

Ford Australia says this is a “re-notification and extension” of a previous recall carried out back in December 2020. It covered 25,573 vehicles.

The vehicle identification numbers (VINs) listed in this new recall were included in the previous recall.
