HAS From July 10, 2026, influenza vaccines are mandatory. This prescription can be administered by a doctor, midwife, pharmacist and nurse (Wed Boxed) (1).
Pharmacists and nurses can prescribe and administer seasonal influenza vaccines to people 11 years of age and older, whether targeted or not according to vaccination guidelines. Permission to prescribe the influenza vaccine is issued:
As a reminder, trained pharmacists can administer vaccines but are not authorized to write prescriptions. |
All flu vaccines are affected
Previously, you could get a flu shot without a prescription.
The change in the rules for prescribing and dispensing is associated with the decision of the National Agency for the Safety of Medicines and Medical Products (ANSM) (3), according to which the influenza virus is included in List I of toxic substances.
Therefore, these new prescribing and dispensing rules apply to all vaccines containing influenza virus (in whole or in part):
- in all forms (injection, nasal);
- and regardless of its group, strain or variant.
ANSM indicates that “ Over the coming months, the labeling of boxes containing eligible vaccines will be gradually updated to reflect this change. Already produced boxes will be used so as not to create tension in supplies. ».
Flu vaccination campaign: no change
During the seasonal influenza vaccination campaign, the conditions for access to vaccination remain unchanged; The flu vaccine can be delivered upon presentation of a voucher sent by Health Insurance to covered people.
