Selling on Facebook Marketplace just got a lot less tedious. Meta has introduced new AI-powered features designed to make listing items faster and easier, whether you’re decluttering, furnishing a new space, or just clearing out your closet.
Facebook Marketplace has been connecting buyers and sellers for a decade, with more than 3.5 million listings posted every day in the US and Canada. The platform remains especially popular among young people who are moving, organizing an apartment, or updating their wardrobe.
Sellers can now upload product images and Meta AI will do the rest, automatically generating a listing, populating product details, and suggesting a price based on similar listings in the area.
Delivery is also becoming easier. Sellers can now offer shipping directly in their listings, create prepaid shipping labels in just a few clicks, and track every order shipped from a single dashboard.
Communication with customers is also being developed thanks to artificial intelligence. New auto-reply tools allow sellers to respond to product availability requests using information already gathered from their listings, such as description, pickup location, and price. These responses can be included, viewed, and edited as you create your ad.
Meta AI also generates aggregated profile data to build trust between transactions. Buyers now see an overview of a seller’s Facebook profile at the top of their Marketplace profile, including how long they’ve been on Facebook, number of friends, and summary information about their Marketplace activity, such as listing history, product types, and seller ratings.
Meta says more updates to the Marketplace are coming soon.
