Sedlacek was born on November 24, 1985 in East Berlin and was raised by a single mother. At the age of 16, she learned that she was the daughter of actor Sven Martinek, whom she met only by telephone. The 40-year-old man has four siblings.

Before starting a career as a sports presenter, she studied fashion journalism and media communications in Berlin. In addition to studying political and administrative sciences at Fern University in Hagen, she completed an internship as a moderator at the ZIV Institute in Berlin in 2009.

She worked as a reporter for regional television stations in Berlin. At the casting, she beat out 2,700 other applicants and became a sports presenter on the Sky channel.
