A north Melbourne cafe where a suspected drive-by shooting took place on Friday caught fire overnight, with authorities treating the fire as suspicious.
Emergency services were called to reports of a fire on Mount Alexander Road at around 1am, which caused extensive damage to both the cafe and the nearby post office.
A crime scene has now been established in the cafe. (ABC News)
Victoria Police said no one was in the cafe at the time.
The crime scene has already been established; an arson chemist will arrive at the scene today.
Investigators said they were told a dark-colored SUV was seen leaving the scene.
The suspicious fire occurred just three days after shots were fired at the same cafe in a suspected drive-by shooting.
Bullet holes were still visible in the glass outside the cafe as firefighters worked to extinguish the fire.

Two men from Keillor Downs have since been charged over the alleged shooting.
