Essen (North Rhine-Westphalia) – Bloody skirmish on Sunday evening in Essen! The row escalated on the sidelines of a party attended by about 150 people in the city’s most popular nightlife area. Finally, the man attacked three opponents, pulled out a knife – and the passerby died.
According to BILD, at around 2:20 a.m. police and rescue workers were called to a verbal altercation between four men on Girardetstraße in the Rüttenscheid district of Essen (North Rhine-Westphalia) is called.

Officers met the four men at the location in Girardethouse. All were reported to have stab wounds or bleeding wounds. Another man collapsed and police had to resuscitate him until emergency services arrived at the scene, but he died shortly afterwards. According to photographic information, the deceased became an outsider’s bouncer. The 56-year-old German reportedly suffered a heart attack as a result of these events.

Previously, about 150 people celebrated a large celebration in a rented function room at the house. As BILD learned, a quarrel during the party spilled onto the street and escalated there. It was still unclear what the argument was about early Sunday morning. It is reported that three Turks (42–48 years old) and one German (42 years old) were involved in the crime. The main suspect is a 46-year-old Turk, who himself was wounded. He reportedly used a knife and was temporarily arrested. He is currently being treated in hospital police under guard, the man is accused of attempted murder, according to Bild.
An earlier version of the article said it was a mass brawl, but new evidence does not support this initial assumption. Police want to provide more details later in the day. Homicide has opened an investigation.
