New Delhi, Jul 12 (PTI) Over 93 per cent of voters in Delhi’s 1.45 crore population have received census forms under the Special Intensive Review (SIR) of voter lists and around 7 per cent of completed forms have been digitized, according to official data.

According to the status report released on Sunday, over 1.35 crore census forms have been distributed so far, covering 93.35 per cent of the capital’s electorate.

The number of digitized forms was around 11.16 lakh, representing 7.69 percent of voters. The door-to-door census began on June 30 and will continue until July 29.

Officials said the first priority is to ensure census forms reach every eligible voter, after which the collection and digitization of completed forms will speed up.

According to data provided by the office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Delhi, the North East recorded the highest distribution of forms at 18.03 lakh, followed by the East (15.18 lakh), West (14.12 lakh), South East (14.03 lakh) and South (12.97 lakh).

In percentage terms, New Delhi topped the list with 98.49 percent of voters covered, followed by West (96.99 percent), South East (96.96 percent), South (96.45 percent) and North East (96.41 percent).

North West recorded the lowest distribution percentage at 83.79 percent, followed by Far North (88.15 percent), South East (90.15 percent), Old Delhi (90.37 percent) and South West (93.51 percent).

In terms of digitization, South West leads with 1.49 lakh forms uploaded, followed by Outer North (1.47 lakh), West (1.33 lakh), North West (1.05 lakh) and North East (95,198).

In percentage terms, the Far North recorded the highest digitization rate at 17.75 percent, followed by the South West (11.28 percent), Central North (9.66 percent), West (9.17 percent) and North (9.01 percent).

The East recorded the lowest digitization rate at 4.43 percent, followed by Old Delhi (4.64 percent), Central (4.64 percent), North East (5.09 percent) and South East (5.26 percent).

As part of the SIR, poll workers (BLOs) distribute two copies of the census form to each voter. One copy remains with the voter as confirmation, and the other, once completed, is submitted to the BLO. The Election Commission said voters can also submit their forms online.
