Jessica Pegula 6-4 1-1 Coco Gauff*
Gauff shows his indomitable fighting spirit in a tense game. A double fault and an error saw her lose 15-40, but she managed to fight her way back. The highlight of the game was a brilliant shot on the turn after receiving a roll; Pegula sends it back and Gauff keeps himself under control with a ferocious pass down the line. FIRST SET! Jannik Sinner scores against Jan-Lennard Struff
Jan Lennard Struff appeared to be pressuring Jannik Sinner on Court No. 1, extending the Italian’s serve and getting deuces on three straight serves.
Sinner went through each of them without facing a break point. Then, with Struff serving at 5-5, Sinner made his move to take the score to 0-40 with his third break point.
Sinner was able to serve out the set, taking the first goal in 46 minutes. He wraps himself in an ice towel as he takes his seat, but it was typically effective for the world number one.

Coco Gauff beat the curfew at Wimbledon and reached the quarterfinals: “The most dramatic final”
Wimbledon’s curfew, set by Merton Council and in place since the opening of Center Court in 2009, prevents play from continuing beyond 11pm local time to limit potential disruption to local residents.
Gauff, the seventh seed and two-time major champion, forced a decider against former Olympic champion Bencic just after 10pm and filed for the quarter-finals at 10.56pm, booking her spot just two minutes before the curfew.

Defending champion Jannik Sinner takes on Jan Lennard Struff and Heath in the first men’s quarter-final.
If Jannik Sinner returns to the Wimbledon semi-finals, the defending champion will have to do so while facing a seeded opponent in his first five matches. The world number one will face 36-year-old German Jan Lennard Struff today while the world number 74, bidding to become the oldest men’s Grand Slam semi-finalist for the first time in history, is set to suffer a disappointment today.
It is worth noting that Sinner will have to confront not only the strong Struff, who eliminated Daniil Medvedev in straight sets in the third round, but also the weather. It’s a hot day at the All England Club.
