Heavy rain in Navsari: Heavy to very heavy rain has been falling in parts of South Gujarat including Navsari and Valsad for the last 4-5 days in the state. Many areas of Navsari and Valsad districts were inundated due to heavy rain. Flooding in low-lying areas has disrupted people’s lives. The system has begun rescue operations in flood-affected areas. On July 23, it rained in 199 taluks of the state from 6 am to 4 pm. Khergam Navsari received over 16 inches of rain. While Gandevi and Chikhli received 8-8 inches of water in just 2 hours.

Scenes like Mehtandav occurred in many taluks of South and Central Gujarat. According to the State Emergency Management Centre, South Gujarat recorded the heaviest rainfall in the state. The incessant rain turned Navsari into a bat. When the entire city is submerged, water is visible everywhere. On the other hand, from Mehtandaw to Navsari, rivers flow on two banks. In which scenes of the Cauvery River at Chikhli and the Tadkeshwar Mahadev Temple submerged in water were discovered.
More than 16 inches of rain fell in Navsari Khergham
On July 23, between 6 am and 4 pm, Khergam taluk Navsari received the highest rainfall of 16 inches, creating a waterlogged situation in the entire district. Moreover, 15.28 inches of rain in Umarpada taluka in Surat, 13.78 inches in Umargam taluka in Valsad and 13.11 inches in Chikhli taluka in Navsari caused widespread destruction. Low-lying areas were under water.
11.22 inches of rain was recorded in Pardi taluk in Valsad, 10.83 inches in Ganadevi taluk in Navsari, 10.63 inches in Netrang taluk in Bharuch, 10.8 inches in Mehmedawad taluk in Kheda. So. Heavy rains brought traffic to a standstill and public life became completely chaotic.
