The Bharatgas Lite ZIP is built on BPCL’s Bharatgas Lite composite cylinder, which the company says offers easier handling, a stainless steel body, a visible gas level indicator, additional safety features and a modern design.
BPCL said the offering has been designed keeping in mind “today’s fast-paced lifestyles” and aims to provide customers with a seamless premium LPG experience.
Live Events
Bharatgas Lite ZIP was first launched in Mumbai. BPCL said the service will be extended to 100 additional cities across 24 states by August 15, 2026, making its premium features available to more households across the country.
BPCL’s launch comes days after Swiggy Instamart teamed up with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) to launch on-demand delivery of LPG cylinders through a fast commerce app, a first for the sector. The partnership also saw the introduction of HP Navya, HPCL’s new 10 kg composite cylinder, which will be launched for the first time in Bengaluru along with the existing 5 kg metal cylinder. Under the Instamart-HPCL agreement, customers do not require an existing household LPG connection to order, opening up the service to students, working professionals and small households without a formal connection. First orders are processed as new cylinder purchases with built-in identity verification and delivery confirmation; later orders are treated as restocking and the empty cylinder will be collected upon delivery.

HPCL is positioning the HP Navya cylinder as a lighter, corrosion-resistant and translucent alternative to steel cylinders, aimed at apartments, small families and for use as a secondary cylinder. Orders are fulfilled through HPCL’s existing distribution network.
Instamart CEO Amitesh Jha said the platform’s move into LPG builds on its expansion beyond grocery stores into “everyday” essential services. HPCL Chief Marketing Officer Amit Garg said the tie-up was aimed at making LPG more accessible to ‘Naya Bharat’ through a fast digital channel. The companies have not indicated a timeline for expanding Instamart’s service beyond Bengaluru.
With BPCL’s Bharatgas Lite ZIP, all three major public sector oil marketing companies now have LPG offerings from composite cylinders or fast delivery in the market or on pilot basis as OMCs compete for share in the premium and fast commercialization segment of LPG.
