Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi has expressed strong dissatisfaction with the ongoing movement led by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) against the NEET paper leak at Jantar Mantar and the lathi charge against the police during the march in Parliament. He said that the use of force against students is extremely painful and such actions can weaken the goal of a developed India.
In a statement, Joshi said that young students from different parts of the country have been peacefully protesting on the streets of New Delhi for several days against their demands. Their concerns are genuine and should be addressed with compassion and foresight. He said the issue should not be resolved by force, considering it simply a law and order issue.

He also expressed concern over alleged police actions, especially against women and students. He said: “It pains me deeply to see that brutal force was used against women and girls.” He said such incidents will divert a large section of society from the goal of India’s development.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Police has clarified that there are currently no plans to take any action to stop the student protest taking place at Jantar Mantar. The police issued the statement following a statement by Aam Aadmi Party national chief Arvind Kejriwal in which he expressed fears that the central government might take action against the protesters again.

Earlier, Arvind Kejriwal posted a message on X and said that instructions have been given to close all shops in Connaught Place by 6:30 pm, security has been beefed up and ambulances have been deployed. He raised the question whether the central government was going to take action again against the students protesting at Jantar Mantar.
On the other hand, the New Delhi Traders’ Association (NDTA) has appealed to traders to close their establishments by 6.30 pm in view of safety precautions and possible crowding in Connaught Place and surrounding areas. According to the association, the decision was taken after discussions with the chairman and vice-chairman of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC). It has, however, advised to keep offices, shops and restaurants in the area closed for a specified period of time.
