A major fire broke out in the Upia and Beaufort sector of West Erault this Wednesday, July 1, in the late afternoon. Several dozen hectares have already been processed.
It was a fire, fanned by strong winds, that broke out this Wednesday, July 1st, in the late afternoon, in the town of Beaufort, near Upia, on the border between Western Hérault and Aude. Four Hérault fire response teams have been mobilized, as well as an air cell.
About 150 firefighters are on site
Several dozen hectares of fire have already engulfed Aude, in the municipalities of Mayac and Pouzols-Minervois. Reinforcements from Narbonne are on the scene, as well as a delayed Lesignan civil security detachment. These assets are backed by four Canadairs and one Dash. In total, about 150 firefighters are involved in extinguishing the ongoing fire.
