An amber alert for a missing six-year-old boy on Tuesday remains in effect for the Yukon and Northwest Territories, but has been canceled in Alberta and British Columbia.

Police are looking for Lanakai Morrison, who has long light brown hair and brown eyes.

RCMP say he was picked up Tuesday from the village of Walhalla Centre, about 45 kilometers northwest of Grande Prairie, Alta., as the crow flies.

The Amber Alert, originally issued for Alberta, has been expanded to include British Columbia, the Yukon and the Northwest Territories.

The boy was last seen about 130 kilometers northwest of downtown Walhalla in Fort St. John at 9:30 a.m. PT Thursday, RCMP said, adding he had been seen several times in British Columbia.

Police say the boy may be with his mother, 35-year-old Christa Morrison, as well as 35-year-old Daniel Ludwig and 4-year-old Carl Morrison.

Police say Krista Morrison has long, dark brown hair and brown eyes. Ludwig is described as five feet 11 inches tall, with a large build and a shaved head. Carl Morrison has long dirty blond hair.

The group is believed to be traveling in a red 2006 Ford F-350. The current license plate number is unknown. Police say the truck has a lift kit and partial tinting on the rear window.

Anyone who sees the boy, group of people or vehicle is advised to stay away and call 911 immediately.
