Bangalore is one of the fastest growing cities in the country. Bangalore is not only home to the IT industry but also to many new innovations. For this reason, people from different parts of the country come here. Due to this, the growth rate of the city has increased significantly and the traffic problem has increased at the same rate. Although traffic jams in Bangalore have been discussed many times, even if you have to drive one kilometer through the city, you will waste a lot of time. Being late for work due to traffic jams, being late to the airport and train station, being late for a trip (a corridor without a signal) are all very common occurrences. Recently, the Infosys co-founder also spoke about the traffic problems in Bengaluru.
Meanwhile, I am heading to Kempegowda airport in Bangalore. For motorists The good news is that NHAI is planning to build a signal-free corridor on the airport route. Money Control reports that the Highways Authority of India will begin work on the Sadahalli Gate underpass project, which has been in the dark for years, from next week. On July 1, the Bangalore Traffic Police issued permission to the Highways Authority of India to carry out work on the construction of an underpass about 700 meters long for a period of 15 months from 23:00 to 05:00.
On the 22 km highway leading to the airport, that is, between Hebbal and Sadahalli junction, there is a signal only near the Sadahalli gate. The rest of the corridor has a signal-free route via an overpass and an elevated corridor. Currently, Sadahalli Underpass Line 6, whose construction cost will be increased by Rs 30 crore, has been dismantled in the past. At the same time, the police shared information that starting next week they will change traffic routes in order to easily get to the airport.

The excavation work for the construction of the underpass will begin in September this year and the construction of the project will be undertaken by Vidya Infrabult Private Limited. The design work required for the project has already been completed and as the rains intensified in July and August, the authorities have started making necessary preparations keeping the weather in mind. The report notes that officials have said that this underpass will be constructed using an open-pit method. Even before the construction of the underground passage, it was decided to build an overpass here. But the underpass is being built due to land encroachment.
